Ludwig figured out what was happening after seeing Horton’s expression.
Not bothering to answer the question, he said to Alice straightforwardly, “Alice, it seems that I shouldn’t stay here anymore. I shall do the honors of playing the host the next time you visit Rheasia.”
Upon saying that, he left right away. Alice wanted to chase after him, yet Horton stopped her with a shout.
She could only watch helplessly as Ludwig left.
Ludwig made it to the door when he heard a commotion behind him. The corner of his lips curled up ever so slightly into a meaningful smile.
“This is rather interesting.”
A troop of soldiers had arrived and blocked the entrance of the Alexanders’ mansion. They surround Ishac, suited up and armed as if they were confronting a formidable enemy.
The numerous members of the Alexander family were shocked to witness the situation.
It was the Yingish Army of Yingland. Why had they surrounded the Alexanders’ home?
Moreover, they had come in great numbers!
“Oh no! Sir, the army has shown up and they have the mansion surrounded!”
“What?!”
Horton was astounded. “What’s going on?”
The servant answered, “I don’t know! What should we do now, sir?”
Meanwhile, Hilton said, “There’s no need to panic, sir. The army is most probably here for the Rheasian!”
Horton felt slightly relieved upon hearing that. George found Hilton’s explanation made sense.
The Alexanders were a powerful family who had always been loyal to the royal family, so why would the royals make a move on them? George was certain that they were coming for the Rheasian.
“Come. Let’s head out to take a look.”
On the other hand, Alice’s face immediately turned pale with fear upon hearing that. She ran outside at once and saw row upon row of soldiers surrounding the entire mansion.
She could see that the army was targeting Ludwig.
A horrible thought occurred to her. Could it be that the army had come to kill Ludwig?
Ludwig’s expression remained nonchalant as he looked at the army before him. There was no telling what was on his mind.
Horton immediately stepped forward and said respectfully to the burly foreigner at the forefront, “General, you’re here for…”
The foreigner pointed at Ludwig and spoke with authority, “We’re here to apprehend this Rheasian. Please don’t get in the way of our duties, Mr. Alexander.”
That turned out to be the case, so Horton immediately felt relieved. It was fine as long as the family was not targeted.
Alice ran over. “Why are you detaining him? George didn’t break any laws and he saved the lives of Prince William and me! If you have the audacity to capture Prince William’s savior, I’m certainly going to report you to the prince!”
The man said rigidly, “There’s no need to report anyone. We were sent by Prince William and this Rheasian is one of the assassins!”
