Alice knew what he was intending, so she was even more infuriated. She clenched her teeth tightly and felt turmoil in her heart.
In the end, she chose to act according to her conscience instead of yielding. She took a deep breath and said aloud, “I refuse to apologize because I didn’t say anything wrong! You should be the one apologizing!”
“That’s disrespectful!”
Meanwhile, Prince William was thoroughly enraged. Jamie dispatched the order to capture Alice right away.
The elite royal guards began to detain Alice in a rather roughly manner.
A look of sorrow flashed past Alice’s face as she was confronted by the situation. Still, she appeared to be relieved to have done the right thing. She did not let Rowan down and defended his reputation.
She would not mind even if the price of her action was imprisonment.
Meanwhile, a casual voice came from a corner of the crowd. “If you have the courage to touch even a strand of Alice’s hair, I don’t mind punishing you in a way that you’ll remember for the rest of your life, Prince William.”
The voice came out of nowhere. It was not loud, but everyone present could hear it. Moreover, it was filled with a sense of potency.
It was as if those words were infallible and that the man speaking was not joking around. If Prince William had the audacity to touch Alice, the man would have the courage to punish the prince.
What was this man?
They had never heard his voice before.
Instantly, everyone looked toward the source of the voice.
Soon, they found a Rheasian with a tall and slim figure taking his sweet time to walk over. There was a cynical smile on his face as if he did not take anyone at the scene seriously.
Moreover, he had an extremely relaxed manner as if he was just fooling around.
Naturally, the man was Rowan.
Prince William’s body shuddered instantly when he heard the voice and his face turned paler.
It was because Rowan’s remark exploded in his mind like a bomb and shocked him. Jamie felt a bloodcurdling fear in his heart.
Jamie hastily looked toward Rowan and saw the Rheasian’s cynical face. Jamie had no doubt that Rowan would attack him if he were to rough up Alice after noticing how he was looking at him so mischievously.
Jamie could not help remembering how Rowan slaughtered those terrifying assassins that day. Those assassins could not even withstand one hit from this Rheasian and were no match for him!
The prince was fearful and scared out of his wits.
However, he called out aloud soon afterward, “Assassin! He’s the assassin! Where are the royal guards? Protect me! Capture the assassin at once!”
Jamie was completely out of his composure and was frightened beyond recognition. Gone was any trace of his princely demeanor and composure.
Rowan shook his head and felt pity for the Queen. The Queen was an invincibilis powerhouse and a legend. Why was her descendant such a deadbeat?
