Edgar considered for a moment before replying, “I feel like I was fighting the entire forest. The air felt so heavy that there was a lot of resistance with every one of my punches and kicks. Had it not been for that, I should have been able to defeat you.”
It was the truth.
Although the Queen was already an invincibilis fighter while Edgar was still one step away from the invincibilis state, Edgar’s physical capabilities were equal to her’s. In fact, he was slightly stronger.
Edgar had even assumed that he was about to win at one point during their duel.
However, the forest’s willpower to go against him was growing more and more intense with the passing of time. Josua needed to exert more physical and mental strength with every punch he threw.
Josua could keep up at first, but he became exhausted as time passed.
The Queen said smilingly, “That’s right. My conscious is within the forest so naturally, as an outsider, you can feel the hostility of the entire forest.”
Edgar asked modestly, “Is this a skill practiced by invincibilis fighters?”
The Queen shook her head and said, “It’s not a skill but a conscious. Every invincibilis is capable of projecting their own conscious.”
“The aforementioned conscious is one’s consciousness, it’s the consciousness that allows one to communicate and interact with one’s surroundings.”
She described it in a mystical manner which would be very hard for an ordinary person to understand, but Edgar was enlightened by her teaching. It came as a shock to him and he gained a brand-new insight!
Conscious, consciousness…
Josua immediately sat cross-legged and began meditating because he had learned something that he had never known before!
If he could understand it, he believed that he would be able to reach the invincibilis state!
There was astonishment and admiration in the Queen’s gaze when she noticed how fast Edgar understood the concept.
She nodded approvingly in secret. She had not misjudged Edgar. The young man was someone worthy of being taught.
In truth, she could feel that her strength was waning as she grew older. On the other hand, there were no other invincibilis fighters in Yingland, so the country was facing a shortage of talented fighters.
It was highly possible that Yingland would decline when she was over a hundred years old and there was no invincibilis fighter leading the country…
It was bound to happen!
Now that the clubs were being revived, Yingland would certainly be harmed substantially if they were to begin attacking the countries.
Under such circumstances, she made the decision to take Edgar under her wing.
In truth, she had learned about Edgar before and knew he was an exceptionally talented man who would accomplish great things in the future!
Most importantly, Edgar’s personality made him worthy of her trust.
That was why she chose to hand the country to Alice, or more accurately, why she handed Yingland to Edgar.
On the other hand, it was apparent that Edgar knew about this, so it went without saying…
The Queen did not interrupt Edgar and left in silence.
She had already provided adequate guidance, so Edgar’s own efforts would determine how far he could go.
Edgar meditated for three full days.
Josua did not eat, drink, or move his body during the process. In fact, even his breathing slowed down and he looked just like a statue.
Wild animals came, yet they did not see him as a man and assumed he was a rock. The animals sniffed at him but left in disappointment without taking a bite.
Josua did not budge at all during the three days regardless of the strong wind, rain, and hot sun. Even his heartbeat and breathing stopped.
Josua was in a death-like state, but his body did not decompose nor become putrid.
At last, the sky was suddenly covered in dark clouds and it was about to rain heavily on the fourth day.
