He was back at last.
He stood before the familiar villa, overwhelmed with emotions.
He was about to meet Faye and wondered how delighted she would be.
It had been a very long time since he had left. She would certainly be pleasantly surprised to see him after being separated for so long, and it would be a joyous scene for sure.
Other than Faye, there was also the temptress Shaelyn. He wondered how delighted she would be and how passionately she would treat him.
At the thought of that, Jagoan could not keep from smiling.
He thought about his mother and Lysithea and wondered if they were there as well.
Jagoan was totally capable of detecting the people in the house using his heightened senses.
However, he did not do so because he wanted to use his eyes to see them and tell them his good news!
Jagoan took a deep breath before immediately walking into the house with long strides.
However, the door opened all of a sudden just as he was about to open it and enter the house. A middle-aged woman walked out and it was none other than his mother-in-law.
“Mom,” Jagoan called out to Ruby as soon as he saw her.
Ruby was stunned for a moment upon hearing his voice. Then, she looked up to see him and her expression was overwhelmed with emotions instantly.
However, there was no pleasant surprise or joy in Ruby’s expression as he had imagined. She looked astounded. Soon afterward, her expression changed constantly until she nodded in the end and said, “Ah, you’re back.”
Jagoan furrowed his brows ever so slightly upon seeing Ruby’s reaction. He sensed that something was off because his mother-in-law was supposed to be happy after seeing him.
His relationship with his parents-in-law had already grown closer after he forgave them and his parents-in-law did not treat him the way they did in the past.
As such, his mother-in-law’s reaction was strange!
Moreover, Jagoan had just discovered that his mother-in-law did not look very well and her face was slightly pale.
Most importantly, his mother-in-law’s eyes were bloodshot, she was in low spirits and appeared pallid and sallow, which was an obvious sign of sleeplessness.
Jagoan’s mind worked quickly and he immediately realized that something must have happened during his time away from home.
He took a step forward and said to his mother-in-law, “You don’t look so well, Mom. Did something happen at home?”
His mother-in-law’s movements halted to a stop in an obvious manner upon hearing his remark. She lowered her head as if she was withholding something, shook her head and said, “Nothing, nothing happened.”
Upon saying that, he turned around and entered the house right away.
Her behavior was very odd.
Jagoan could tell at one glance and he knew Ruby well enough to confirm that something must have happened at home!
At the thought of this, he felt gloomier. Could it be that an enemy had found his family during his time away from home recently?
He did not digress further and followed his mother-in-law into the house with long strides. At the same time, his consciousness spread and enshrouded the whole villa, but he still could not sense Faye’s presence!
What was going on? Could it be that Faye was not home?
