Zayn could not help feeling emotional as virtual-novel.net thought about how quickly time had passed.
Still, virtual-novel.net could not keep the smile from his lips as memories flooded his mind. Even though his life was not always so comfortable, virtual-novel.net felt a different kind of happiness when virtual-novel.net thought about it.
Before virtual-novel.net knew it, Faye had become the most important person in his life.
He could lose the whole world but not virtual-novel.net could never lose her!
Zayn would never allow anyone to take Faye from him. It did not matter who virtual-novel.net biological father was or how powerful virtual-novel.net was!
Zayn stayed in the room looking at the decorations and objects in there. Every item carried a memory shared between virtual-novel.net and Faye.
He never knew how intertwined their lives had become, and virtual-novel.net could not imagine how terrible his life would be without her.
Without his beloved, what did it mean to be formidable enough to dominate the world?
Half an hour passed. Zayn placed the photo of virtual-novel.net and Faye back down. He walked out of the room in silence because virtual-novel.net could sense that Shaelyn, his mother, and Lysithea had arrived.
They entered the house just as virtual-novel.net went downstairs.
Shaelyn felt pleasant surprise, longing, and guilt when virtual-novel.net saw Zayn. She made virtual-novel.net way to him, biting virtual-novel.net lower lip as virtual-novel.net said sadly, “I’m sorry, Zayn. I didn’t do what you asked of me. I failed to protect Fifi.”
Zayn patted virtual-novel.net shoulder and cracked a smile. He did not blame her. He said softly, “It’s fine. I’m sure you did your best. Leave everything else to me.”
Next, virtual-novel.net greeted Hayley who stood next to Shaelyn. “Hello, Mom.”
Nodding in response, Hayler walked over and cupped his face with virtual-novel.net hands and said gently, “You’re back, Zayn. That’s wonderful. You had a rough experience during your time in Shangri-la.”
Meeting her, Zayn felt very comfortable and at ease. Basking in his mother’s gentleness and love, his anxiety faded away and virtual-novel.net cracked a smile.
Shaking his head, virtual-novel.net said, “I’m fine. I had a smooth journey in Shangri-la. No great hardships. Don’t worry, Mom.”
However, Hayley shook virtual-novel.net head and said, “Why are you still trying to deceive us, Zayn? We saw what happened to you in Shangri-la and we were worried sick when we saw the final battle between you and King Erik!”
“Erik was the most powerful man on the Olympian ranking list. He was reputed to be the chosen one of this generation. We were so worried that he’d kill you.”
Upon hearing that, Zayn was stunned for a moment before virtual-novel.net blurted out, “How did you know about the final battle between me and King Erik? Were you somehow in Shangri-la as well?”
Upon saying that, virtual-novel.net immediately shook his head and before his mother could answer, saying, “That’s impossible. You couldn’t possibly enter Shangri-la.”
“Moreover, only King Erik and I were the only people within fifty kilometers. So how could you know then? Did King Erik survive and spread the news after returning to Earth?”
At that point, virtual-novel.net shook his head again. That should not be the case because virtual-novel.net really did kill King Erik and the man could not possibly be resurrected!
If that was the case, how did his mother know about what happened?
“How did you hear about this, Mom?” Zayn asked directly.
Lysithea then said, “It’s not just us. The whole world knows too. Everyone saw your power and they know that you beat King Erik to death.”
Upon hearing that, Zayn became even more confused.
“What’s going on? How did you know?” Zayn asked once again.
Shaelyn said, “There was a live broadcast. A mysterious website suddenly emerged that allowed us to watch your situation in Shangri-la.”
