“That’s impossible! That’s absolutely impossible!” He immediately shook his head and said, “Hmph! Jagoan, you might think that you can deceive me, but I know that you’re only putting on a brave face as you die.”
‘You think that you can scare me with that? The drink I gave you had enough poison in it to kill ten thousand people. Even if you’re an invincibilis fighter, after drinking it, you’re still going to end up dead!”
Jean paused for a moment before saying, “However, I’m rather surprised to see you being able to last for so long. It seems that you’re rather impressive for an invincibilis fighter.”
Ivanka could not refrain herself anymore upon hearing that. She pointed at Jean, so furious that her hand was shaking.
“Jean! You! You’re a beast! How could you do that! Mr. Larson is the pillar of our country! Killing him is equal to destroying our nation’s foundation!”
Upon saying that, she wanted to beat up Jean, but he did not give her the chance to do so. He berated her instantly. “That’s enough!”
He clutched Ivanka’s hand and said coldly, “You bitch, do you think that I’m unaware that you feel for Jagoan Larson? You claim to be pure and innocent, but you’re just a slut deep inside.”
“Do you think I wouldn’t know that you fell head over heels after meeting him a few times?”
Ivanka’s face blushed instantly upon hearing that. “That’s bullshit, Jean! Let go of me this instant! You’re hurting me…”
There was pain in Ivanka’s expression. She was not trained in martial arts, so she was just a normal woman. She did not have the ability to resist a skilled fighter like Jean at all.
Jean was not in the mood for pleasantness. He let out a harsh grunt before he shoved her to the side. She stumbled and fell to her ground, her eyes reddened with tears.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Larson. I didn’t know that this would happen. I’m really sorry…”
Ivanka’s face was drenched in tears, her eyes filled with regret, guilt, and agony.
She had invited Jagoan to the party so she could get to know him better and form a close relationship. She did not expect that something like this would happen!
She did not think that she would be the cause of his death.
Jagoan opened his eyes at last and looked toward Ivanka. He nodded slowly and said, “Ms. Cooper, you’re a good person. It’s best for you to stay away from men like Jean from now on.”
Ivanka nodded desperately, but she could no longer speak. Her heart was filled with guilt and agony. She was under the assumption that Jagoan’s death was her fault.
Jean was extremely proud of himself. He was very pleased to see Jagoan as a dying hero. He was delighted to have killed the most powerful invincibilis fighter in Rheasia!
“Jagoan, I can see that you want to live badly. I have the antidote. If you’re willing to bow down to me and beg for my forgiveness, I’ll hand it over,” he said proudly.
In his perception, he had control over Jagoan’s fate and he could toy with him to his heart’s content.
However, Jagoan sniggered in reply as he slowly stood upright. His ghastly pale face was gradually regaining its color.
He did not appear as weak as he seemed earlier.
He looked like a man who had just recovered from a serious illness!
Jean’s eyebrows twitched ferociously upon witnessing the scene. All of a sudden, he had an ominous feeling, but he suppressed it because he still believed that no one could withstand the poison, not even an invincibilis fighter!
Taking a deep breath, Jagoan cracked his neck and said, “I’ve underestimated you. I didn’t think you were so bold, frantic, and determined.”
Everyone at the party shifted their gaze to Jagoan.
Nobody had expected such an incident to take place that night.
Next, Jagoan said, “Your poison was strong. What a pity that it’s not enough to kill me. I was at my weakest point earlier. Had you just attacked me instead of trying to toy with me, you would’ve killed me.”
