“Speak!” said Jagoan abruptly. He was standing right before Luke in an instant and looking at him with his glowing eyes.
Luke swallowed a gulp of saliva and there was only one thought in his mind. It was that his employer’s power had grown even more terrifying than before!
He did not have the courage to digress, of course.
He hastily said, “We found out that your wife was abducted by a powerhouse from the clubs’ world. I’ve mobilized all the surveillance systems in Waltz City and we found blurry footage of… ”
Jagoan felt his heart racing immediately upon hearing the news.
Information on Faye was found at last, and he wanted to cheer aloud.
However, he managed to refrain himself. He had yet to locate Faye for the time being so he had to remain calm.
“Show it to me at once,” said Jagoan in a deep voice.
It did not take long before Jagoan was shown the footage. It was very blurry not because of the poor quality of the video footage but because the person in it was moving too quickly.
However, Jagoan still managed to recognize that the person being abducted was his wife!
On the other hand, the man next to her looked to be middle-aged. His full face was not shown in the footage, only his side profile.
Jagoan could confirm that he had never seen the man in his life.
However, he could also confirm that the middle-aged man was definitely a super powerhouse who was possibly more powerful than him!
If that was the case, he would be able to narrow down his search one step further.
“Did you find anything on this man?” asked Jagoan.
Luke shook his head and said, “No, but we found out that the man was from the clubs’ world and held a rather high position among them.”
Jagoan nodded and said, “Apart from that, is there footage of his entire face?”
Luke said in a guilty manner, “I’m sorry for my failure in only finding this footage after searching through all the surveillance systems in Waltz City.”
He was seized with fear when he said this in fear of Jagoan blaming him. He knew how important Faye was to Jagoan.
Jagoan was quiet for a moment before he patted Luke’s shoulder and said, “You did well. Thank you for taking the trouble to do this.”
Luke was immediately overwhelmed by Jagoan’s compliment. He nodded and said, “That’s my duty. It’s no trouble.”
Jagoan felt rather gloomy to see how frightened Luke was. Could it be that Luke regarded him as a cruel boss? He remembered how Luke used to behave respectfully to him in the past but was never as nervous as he was now.
He asked out of curiosity, “Are you scared of me, Luke?”
Luke’s forehead was drenched in cold sweat upon hearing Jagoan’s remark He hastily nodded then shook his head next. “No, no, no. I respect you, sir. Yes, that’s me being respectful.”
Jagoan furrowed his eyebrows and said, “Tell the truth.”
Luke immediately trembled and said bitterly, “Ever since you came back from Shangri-la, you have become even more powerful. I feel suffocated whenever I’m with you for no apparent reason.”
