Jagoan had never felt so agonized in his life!
It was because he knew that Faye was already at the end of her life, not even God could save her now!
He had no idea why his heart would ache so badly and why he hated himself so much. It was well within his expectation that both Faye and him would not survive the fall.
Now, he was in so much agony just because Faye was one step ahead of him in death.
Was he in agony because Faye sacrificed her life for his survival, or was it because he would not see Faye again for the rest of his life?
Jagoan’s mind could not function normally anymore because he was in so much pain and tormented now.
His body was still dropping constantly and at an increasing speed. They were dropping so fast that Faye could not withstand the process and was suffocating.
After seeing Faye’s condition, Jagoan did not even think. He began to stop his body from falling at full speed instinctively as he was born to do it until he became completely suspended in the air!
If another person were to witness the scene, the person would certainly be scared out of his wits. Even super powerhouses like Osiris and Thor would be terrified by the sight.
It was because to their knowledge, a person was still a human being no matter how powerful the person was and the person was incapable of breaking the laws of physics.
Jagoan had defied the laws of physics by floating in the air. He was no longer a fighter and had achieved a new level!
Jagoan had yet to realize what he did. He hugged Faye tightly in the meantime with tears running down his face constantly.
“Why did you do that, Jagoan? Why did you have to do that… We promised each other that we would die together…”
Jagoan bawled like a child.
Faye stretched out a shaky hand. She was still trying to wipe his tears with great effort despite her weakened state. Jagoan was still crying a river no matter how much she tried to wipe.
“Don’t cry, Jagoan. It’s what I’m supposed to do… I’ve been destined to do this from the moment I was born…” said Faye in a gentle tone.
She was joyous without any ounce of hatred or regret, but the more she behaved that way, the more agonized and tormented Jagoan felt!
Jagoan was no fool. He came to understand at this moment the reason why Osiris abducted Faye and her abnormal behavior.
just as mentioned by Faye, it was her destiny and she had finally arrived at that point.
He could not make peace with the fact no matter how hard he tried. It was too cruel, too agonizing for him!
He would rather die with Faye, at least he would have a companion in the afterlife.
Instead of having Faye die before him.
He had always thought that the most painful experience in life was not death but witnessing the death of a beloved person and having to live alone while missing the person so dearly for days and nights!
If he could have a choice, he would rather give up on what he had so he could live a peaceful, normal life with Faye.
“Don’t die, Jagoan. You can’t die! Do you hear me! You promised me that we’d be together for eternity!” said Jagoan through his tightly-clenched teeth.
Faye said softly, “I’m sorry, Jagoan. I’m sorry for going back on my own word…”
Jagoan cried even more profusely upon hearing that.
Faye seemed to be gaining terminal lucidity. Her face was pink with health during her final moments of life.
She cupped Jagoan’s face in her hands and said, “Jagoan, marrying you was the best decision I ever made in my life. Promise me that you’ll live a good life, won‘t you?”
